Shabby Chic

Hello to everyone!

Hope you've had a wonderful weekend.  I have a card to share that I made for my mom's birthday.  It's my first attempt at the Shabby Chic style, which I truly adore.

I based my card on the sketch from this month's CLP challenge:

All dies except the image panel are from Cheery Lynn.  The roses were made from all three of the Rose Strips (miniature, medium and large), the butterflies are from the Mini Dimensional Butterflies set, foliage is from Judy's Blooms, Olive Branches and Wreath StripBird Cage and the Honeycomb frame on the right hand side.  Papers are from Prima's Divine 6x6 paper pad.  Lace is from Walmart.  The adorable image is called Cammy with Gifts from Pretty Little Stamps.  I know it's a bit hard to see, but there is tulle behind the image panel and under the bird cage.

Copics:
Skin:  E0000, E000, E00, E11, R20
Hair:  E11, E15, E18
Outfit:  BG10, BG11, BG13, V01, V04, V06
Boots:  E50, E53, E55, E57
Presents:  R0000, R02, R05, R08, BV0000, BV00, BV01, BV02, BG13
Shading:  C00, C1

I used Shabby Blue Fran-tage from Stampendous on the bird cage, and Shabby Pink on the butterfly.  I love the vintage metal look it gives, and although it doesn't show up in the pictures, it has a subtle sparkle as it is filled with a very fine gold glitter.  Aren't those gold flecks awesome?  Loving this Fran-tage!

The flowers were cut from Melissa Frances crepe paper that I picked up from Ellen Hutson's online shop.  It shapes so nicely making beautiful flowers- not that the Cheery Lynn flowers need help making them beautiful LOL.  For these flowers, I followed this tutorial on Cheery Lynn's blog, where you can find tutorials for so many beautiful flowers and even more inspiration.  The large pink rose used one strip each of the mini, medium and large rose die strips; the pieces were all sponged in Spun Sugar distress ink.  The bright pink/purple roses were made with one strip medium rose and two strips mini rose, and all these pieces were sponged in Picked Raspberry distress ink and heat embossed with the Shabby Pink Fran-tage.

I tucked a torn off corner of one the Prima papers behind the honeycomb frame.  All the paper distressing was done with Tea Dye distress ink and my D-Stress It tool by Imaginisce.

The Dew Drops are from Robyn's Nest.

Thanks so much for stopping by- hope you have enjoyed my first Shabby Chic card!  Have a wonderful week ahead :)
