Wags n Whiskers Challenge #105

Hello lovely readers!

Happy Friday to each of you!  And wow- May 31st already.  How time flies!  Time to start a new challenge over at Wags n Whiskers where one lucky random winner will win a Wags n Whiskers rubber stamp!  The theme this fortnight is Father's Day!  Something special for the special guys' special day.

I chose to use Shoot the Puck, as hubby is such a huge fan of ice hockey... well, in addition to rugby and football that is lol!  I'm not so hot with masculine cards.  I honestly usually buy cards for the men in my life *gasp*, unless it fits into a challenge.  I much prefer my girlie embellies, and that's about all I have on hand.  So, this one is rather lacking in detail but most men like plain things anyway I think.  I'm actually pretty happy with this masculine card :)  I used an old sketch from somewhere, but I didn't pin it properly so I am unable to give credit where credit is due.  I apologize- if anyone knows, please let me know and I'll update!

The colors I used on this card are from his favorite team's colors.  Black papers are from My Mind's Eye, yellow-gold ones are from Core-dinations.  Any guesses as to which team it is (it is a US team)?  Just a tidbit, according to Wikipedia, they are the only state in the US to have the same colors for all their professional sports teams.  I'll even make it fun!  I'll leave this open for two weeks, and will use random drawing thingie to pick a winner out of the ones who guess correctly in the comments to win a smallish prize!  How about a little extra Cheery Lynn die set I have?  It is the Lace Corner Deco set A, which includes three corner dies.  Please note, this is for my followers only!  But please do not become a follower, then leave.  That would really make me sad, and believe me... I'm a hormonal roller coaster at the moment (not a bad thing lol).  But, more on that at a later date... maybe.

Copics used:
Yellow/gold:  Y23/26/28
Black:  100/W2/3/5
Gray:  C1/2

So, that's all I have for today.  I'm not including close-ups, as I think the picture is pretty self-explanatory.  Thank you ever so kindly for stopping by and wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Creative Card Crew die cuts and punches challenge

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful long weekend with lots of summer sunshine!  Here in beautiful Colorado, we've had plenty.  Dare I say, it's been hot!

Since it's Tuesday already, we have an awesomely cool challenge starting at Creative Card Crew!  The next best thing to anything goes... the theme is dies and/or punches.  How easy is that!  I hope we have a wonderful turn out so I can see everyone's gorgeous creations!  For this challenge, we are being sponsored by Delicious Doodles, who I just love.  Teri has something for everyone from Goth, Steampunk, Floral, Fantasy and on and on.  Such great images.  I've had a few that I have been wanting to color for quite some time and had such a hard time choosing which one to use!  I finally settled on Fan-tasia, who is absolutely stunning in my opinion.

I'm not sure who the dotted paper is by as it came in a kit.  The gray is by Bazzill, and the pastel green glimmer paper is from The Paper Temptress as is the gold matting behind the image.  The gold foil is from DCWV.  The mesh ribbon I picked up from Hobby Lobby.  The lace with rhinestones is from Live and Love Crafts.  Dies used are all by Cheery Lynn:  Rum Punch Doily, Rum Punch Tiny Doily, Dream Catcher #2, and the circle inset from Sentiment Frames set #1

Copics used:

Monochromatic at Stampin' for the Weekend

Hey everyone!

It's Friday come 'round again!  Sadly, this week has really flown by and hubby is leaving tomorrow to go back to Denmark for another 6 weeks or so.  It's been nice having him home and he will be missed once again.

Enough of my depressing drabble.  How about a fun new challenge starting over at Stampin' for the Weekend?  The theme this fortnight is monochromatic, and we are being sponsored by the ever fabulous Saturated Canary!  Grab your shades of one color, and jump on in!  This is once again a new technique for me and I had a great time with it but boy is it hard sticking to one color scheme.

As you can see, I've snuck some green into my shades of red :)  But I think I managed pretty well- even colored her hair a reddish color, whoot!  Papers are from My Mind's Eye, roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and stick pins by The Hobby House that I picked up from The Ribbon Girl.  The lace is by The Paper Studio.

I very much hope you will join us and share your project with us this challenge.  Jump on over and check out the rest of the inspiration that my fantastic teamies have for you!

Love to Create GDT

Hi everyone!

There's a new challenge over at Love to Create that has started today which I am so thrilled to be a GDT for!  They are a weekly challenge with great themes and fantastic sponsors.  I do hope you will join in the fun.  This week's theme is Something for the Kids and the two fabulous sponsors this week are Di's Digi Stamps who is offering a $10 gift certificate and 2 Cute Ink who is offering a prize of three digi stamps.

For my GDT card, I chose to use Kitty Paint Brush.  Such a sweet image, perfect for my little two year old to give to her buddy who is also turning two in a few weeks.

Since it is for a little toddler, I wanted to keep things plain and colorful.  The polka dot paper is by DCWV and I used a basic yellow card stock for matting the image and sentiment.  Two sets of matching brads, and I called it done.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Wishing you a fantastic week ahead!

613 Avenue Create challenge 20

Hi everyone!

It's Sunday, which means a fantastic new challenge over at 613 Avenue Create.  As always, the challenge is anything goes with an optional theme.  This week, the optional theme is a sketch challenge designed by our wonderful Kathi.  Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo, who is offering a prize of seven digis to one lucky random winner.

And here is my take on the sketch, using Gus birthday- rocking chair.

Papers are from My Mind's Eye.  I used Reverse Wonky Rectangles for the image panels.  The image panel jumped out of the die while I was embossing it, so the embossing is offset, but I thought it looked pretty neat so I kept it.  The tag was cut out using Cheery Lynn's Sentiment Frames set 1.  I used Perfect Pearls Mist (in color perfect pearls) on the panel behind the image.  I've also added Glossy Accents to the balloon and eyeglasses.

Of course, the sentiment is what makes this so hilarious!  I put the sentiment on the inside, so here is a picture of the inside.

I do hope you'll join us this week for a great sketch (or anything goes) challenge!  Thank you so very much for stopping by.  Wishing you a fantastic week!

Wags n Whiskers Challenge 104

Hi everybody!

A very happy Friday to each of you!  Hubby comes home this evening, and I can't wait to see him!  Still a lot of cleaning to do (I guess that's to be expected with all these kiddos going behind me to mess things back up LOL), so today's post is going to be short and sweet.

We have a new challenge starting at Wags n Whiskers today.  This fortnight, the theme is everyone's favorite:  Anything goes!!!  Can't get much easier than that, eh?  Pop on over and submit your creations- we would love to see them!

For my DT card this week, I wanted to try another version of the white on white, this time only with just a bit of color, and a colored image.  The image I chose is called Lacey, and she just reminds me so much of Bloom from Winx Club (if any of you have younger daughters, you'll know exactly who I'm talking about lol).  Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Kort and Godt.  Lace was a dollar find at Walmart some time ago.  The wooden bird is by Maya Road and I stamped it with Memento ink, but I do need to check into why the ink spread and how to avoid that in the future.  I used the Dutch Doily Rectangle Frame by Cheery Lynn to frame the image.

Copics used:
Green:  G21/94/99
Orange/Yellow:  Y15/17, YR16
Red:  R02/05/08
Hair:  E21/25/29

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Wishing you the best of all weekends!

Creative Card Crew challenge 36

Hello lovely readers!

A very happy Tuesday to everyone!  I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and is getting along this week.  I've got a bit of a busy week ahead- hubby comes home on Friday after spending the last six weeks in Denmark!!  Yay!  I am very much looking forward to seeing him, as are the kiddos.  I've got a lot of cleaning I need to get done so it doesn't look like all I do is play in the craft room lol

Today starts a new challenge at Creative Card Crew.  The theme this fortnight is White on White and we are being sponsored by Marianne Designs.  White on white always looks so elegant, I love the look but this is the first time I have attempted it.

All dies are by Cheery Lynn:  Lace Corner Deco set A, Trellis, Oval Doily Stacker, Ivy Strip, and Small Exotic Butterfly set 2.  The Swiss Dots embossing folder behind the oval doily frame is by Cuttlebug.  I used some Tea Dye distress ink around the edges of the bottom layer, then tried to tone it down a bit using some splotches of Gesso and clear Distress Crackle Paint.

I used my Shabby White Fran-tage on the lace part of the butterfly, then placed that on the butterfly wing (which comes with the die set).  I rather like this look.

The flowers are from Wild Orchard Crafts except for the Calla Lillies which I picked up from Hobby Lobby.

Thank you so very much for stopping by!  I hope you'll check out the other fantastic projects my teamies have come up with and jump on in to join us this fortnight.

Wishing you a fantastic day!

I used Boo with her teddy bear from Bugaboo Stamps.  Papers are from Prima's Fairy Rhymes 6x6 paper padLace and velvet ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl.  The pearls and heart buttons are from Hobby Lobby.  The mesh border on the right side is Cheery Lynn's Vertical Mesh Hearts.  The image panel was cut from Spellbinders Reverse Wonky Rectangles.

613 Avenue Create challenge 18

Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope the start of the week is going well for you all, and you are enjoying some nice spring weather!

We have a great new challenge happening at 613 Avenue Create, and it's a fun one!  The theme this week is Gift Packaging.  Team B has made up some fabulous creations to help get the creative mojo going, so pop on over and check out the rest of the team's projects, grab your crafty items and jump on in.  This week, we are being sponsored by Bugaboo and Eureka- what awesome sponsors that you could win images from!

For my project this week, I made a "secret box" that I found on the same website as the pop-up book card here.  There are many wonderfully fabulous tutorials to be found, and I can't wait to try some of the others.

So, those are the two main pictures.  Below, for anyone who cares to see are pictures of each side and the top, as well as links to where the images and die cuts can be found =]

I placed the images on opposite sides of each other.  The one of the left is called Ava Fairy Special and the one on the right is Ava Swing.  The circular sentiment on top is called Circle Sentiments - Ava Fairy Special.  All images were colored with Copics.  The image panels were cut from Coved Rectangle Large and Large Circle Stackers.

These are the two floral sides.  I wanted them similar, but not exactly the same.  All dies are from Cheery Lynn.  Both butterflies are from the Small Exotic Butterflies set 2.  The doily on the left side is the Ambergris Tiny Doily and the one hiding on the right is the Rum Punch Tiny Doily.  The yellow flower on the left was made from the Shasta Daisy Strip, while the yellow flower on the right was made from the Daisy Strip.  The pink flowers on the left were made from the Chrysanthemum Strip and the smallest flower from Darling Daisies.  The pink and white flowers on the right were made from the Sweet Williams Strip.  The foliage is from a mixture of Rose Leaf Strip, Wreath Strip, Build a Flower 2 and cut up pieces of the Mini Fanciful Flourish.  Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon, heart stick pins are from The Hobby House, sparkly heart brads are by Pebbles, and the flatback pearls are by Recollections.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I do hope you will be inspired to join us for such a great challenge.  I know I very rarely step outside of my card comfort zone, but I really had a lot of fun with this box!  Hope you have a fantastic week!

Wags n Whiskers Challenge 103

Hey everyone and happy Friday!

There's a fun new challenge over at Wags n Whiskers.  The theme this fortnight is Girly Birthday.  What could be more fun?

I've used Ellie and Squeak, isn't it such a cute image?  Such a versatile image too, which can be colored for either  a girl or a boy.  Paper is from DCWV, ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The die cut frame is Cheery Lynn's Dutch Doily Rectangle Frame and the heart tucked in behind is called Love You More.  I heat embossed the edges with Shabby Pink Fran-tage by Stampendous, and added some Stardust Stickles to the present.

Copics used:
Elephant:  W3/5/7
Mouse:  E53/55/57
Pinks:  R20/21/22
Reds:  R02/05/08
Purple:  V05

I'm off to get the kiddos to school.  I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
