Sunshine after the rain

Hello lovely readers!

I've had such a quiet, peaceful weekend crafting all the stress from the week away (in addition to the other mommy duties that is lol).  I hope each of you have found some time for yourselves!

I really enjoyed working on this card.  The image is from Saturated Canary, and is called Sweet Oklahoma.  A short while back, Krista put the image on special and the proceeds were to be sent to our challenge blog owner's daughter, Lindsay, who lost quite a bit during the tornadoes that hit Oklahoma a few weeks ago.  Such a great image (as all her images are), and an even greater cause.  And, since we have no sponsor image for the challenge this fortnight, a few of us teamies decided to use it as a special thank you to Krista for her kind, generous heart. So, Krista, if you happen to be reading this- you just rock, girl!

Onto the challenge! This fortnight over at Creative Card Crew, the challenge theme is No designer papers.  Our fabulous sponsor is Scrapping Center, and one lucky random winner will receive a $15 store voucher.

Gorgeous image, huh?  I think I have left too much white in her hair, I may go back and touch it up in a few spots.  Anyway, since this is for a friend who is going through a rough patch, I wanted to remind her "there's always sunshine after the rain".  Following that theme, I did a lot of distressing to the card and decided on peachy- orange and yellow colors.  I used a piece of corrugated cardboard I've had sitting around forever, which has gold Stickles, Gesso and Shabby White Fran-tage.  The Vertical Mesh Hearts is by Cheery Lynn.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I have added some gold Stickles for some extra shimmer.  The metal butterfly and white starburst stamens are from The Ribbon Girl.

The Adage Ticket by Tim Holtz was put through the ringer lol.  It was crumpled, distressed with my D-Stress Tool, Stickle'd, Gesso'd, and Frantage'd.  And yet... it still looks lovely I think!  Love these tickets!  The triple bow was made from Shabby Seam Binding from Live and Love Crafts.  I'm not sure where I picked up the Vintage Trinket by Maya Road from, but here is a product link.

I think that's about it for me today, except for a reminder about my blog candy here.  Wishing everyone a fabulous week!
